Microsoft recently made an exciting announcement regarding its Edge browser, stating that it is rolling out an AI image generator that is powered by DALL-E’s AI image generator. This integration will allow users to generate images from natural language descriptions, making Edge the first and only browser that is supported by an AI image generator. Microsoft’s AI image generator will be automatically available for Windows users. However, users with macOS, mobile, or Linux devices will need to download the browser to access the new update. In a blog post, Microsoft stated that the feature would allow users to create images that do not yet exist, powered by the latest DALL∙E models from its partners at OpenAI, right from the Microsoft Edge sidebar. According to Microsoft, Edge users worldwide will have access to a DALL-E-powered AI picture generator. This news follows the incorporation of the picture creation technology into its Bing AI chatbot last month. “We are excited to share more of what is new in Edge to help you stay organized and productive,” Microsoft shared. “Edge is now the first and only browser with an integrated AI image generator.” The “Image Maker” will be accessible via Edge’s sidebar. Users can prompt Bing to produce several images by typing in the desired image. They can then choose the photographs they like and download them for use in their documents or social media postings. Microsoft emphasized the function as a tool for producing “extremely particular” images for social media postings, slideshows, and documents. Several image generators are available, but placing the function directly in Edge’s sidebar will simplify it for consumers to use while browsing the web. Users must currently manually add it to their sidebar by toggling the switch next to Picture Maker after entering the sidebar and selecting the “+” button. Overall, Microsoft’s AI image generator is a useful tool for those who require specific images for their social media posts or documents. The integration of this feature in Edge’s sidebar will make it more accessible to users and is a promising development in the field of artificial intelligence.
