Due to a “niggle in the bowling shoulder,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday declared teenage speed prodigy Naseem Shah ineligible for the third and final England Test in Karachi.

A PCB news statement from today said, “The fast bowler will go to Lahore where he will undergo a thorough examination at the National High-Performance Center before commencing rehabilitation.”

It stated that at this time, the team management had not asked for his successor.

It further stated that on Wednesday afternoon, Pakistan and England will arrive in Karachi.

Shah earlier missed the Multan Test as well from a sore shoulder.

His absence is a further setback for Pakistan since pacemen Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are both out of the series owing to ongoing knee and shoulder injuries, respectively.

The Rawalpindi and Multan Tests were won by England, ending the series; hence, the Karachi Test is meaningless.
