ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi met with Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, minister of law, and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, minister of economic affairs, on Wednesday at the President’s House in his most recent tête-à-tête with coalition government officials.
The meeting’s discussion focused on the nation’s political and economic status, as well as legislative issues.
The meeting took place before the president traveled to Lahore to talk with PTI Chairman Imran Khan on the dissolution of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa legislatures.
The previous day, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also discussed his meeting with Dr. Alvi, who had urged convening discussions between the PTI leadership and the coalition government led by the PML-N.
However, he said, the president has been notified that the administration would not undertake negotiations on conditions.
Early voting appears to be impractical, and the election will go according to schedule, the finance czar emphasized.
Dar and President Alvi also had back-to-back discussions to go through the current political climate in the nation, including the dissolution of assemblies.
