On November 1, the prime minister is due to start an official visit to China. Since taking office in April, it will be his first trip to China.
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing has come to an end, and Shehbaz Sharif is among the first group of international leaders to visit China.
He remarked, “I feel extremely honored and emotionally affected. It’s quite pleasant to know that I am one of the first leaders from the globe to visit my very very fraternal and loving nation China.
That demonstrates and reflects, he continued, “the depth of our relationship and the strength of our understanding and our bond.”
The Chinese leadership, including Premier Li Keqiang and Chinese President Xi Jinping, will be discussed in the prime minister’s meetings with them in order to further cooperation in a number of areas, the prime minister stated.
Sharif expressed his thanks to the Chinese government, citizens, and businesses for their kind contributions in regard to the aid provided by China to the flood-affected people in Pakistan.
“China has sent food supplies, medications, mosquito nets, and many other goods for the flood-affected people,” he continued.
He said that the Chinese leadership had made a significant contribution and had even requested information from the Pakistani government about what further China might do to help the flood-affected people.
He stated that he was inspired by China’s fast progress in the economic, social, and cultural spheres and that China adheres to the idea of globalization.
He said that the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has reached a high-quality second phase, has completely changed Pakistan’s energy industry and infrastructure.
The prime minister promised to talk about enhancing CPEC’s position inside the BRI.
Additionally, he said that the country’s entire road network, built as part of CPEC, has cut travel times and made it simpler for people to get from one location to another.
The visit was also announced by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan through Twitter, which stated that it will “further promote our all-weather and high-level strategic cooperation.”
