LAHORE: The Punjab Secretary of Services on Saturday notified the Establishment Division that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi wishes to retain Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar in the state.

The Punjabi government declined to give the federal government the services of the CCPO Lahore Dogar in a letter that was prepared in this respect.

In a letter to the establishment division, Punjab indicated that the CCPO’s services will be needed to guarantee security during the PTI’s current long march, the entry of Sikh pilgrims from India across the Wagah Border to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Saka Panja Sahib, and the gathering of the Tablighi Jamaat.

Sources claim that Punjab has rejected giving the federal government access to CCPO Lahore’s services three times in total.

The Center had instructed CCPO Lahore to report to the establishment division within three days via letter the day before.

In a third letter, it offered instructions on how to transfer CCPO Dogar and threatened to take disciplinary action if they weren’t followed.
