A picture of Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam performing Umrah has caused a stir on social media. While some fans congratulated him for performing another Umrah during Ramadan, sources have confirmed that Babar is currently in his home city of Lahore and has not been to Saudi Arabia this Ramadan. Babar is taking a break from the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan and is set to lead the Ghani Institute of Cricket (GIC) in the first-ever Ramadan Cricket Tournament in Lahore starting the following day. He plans to perform Umrah later in the month.
The tournament will feature nine teams, including some of Pakistan’s top cricketers such as Shadab Khan, Hussain Talat, and Mohammad Amir. Players who are currently representing Pakistan against Afghanistan will return to Lahore to participate in the event after the series concludes. Babar, who is in Saudi Arabia to perform his religious duties, has shared his Umrah look on social media, expressing his gratitude for being a guest at the Grand Mosque. Despite his absence from the national side, Babar is keeping his fans updated with all that he’s doing.
